More worrysome are the lacking 10-20 thousand shoulderpads NATO has lost track of in Libya. Even if most are not working anymore due to their age (wanna bet you life on it, though?), they are a very major concern with regard to Islamic terrorism, and the conflicts in Afghanistan and Israel.

But the biggest scandal is that Haenel broke the embargo on Somalia and delivered StG44s to them:




You can see people wielding G36s from the very beginning of the conflict in Libya. The guns came most likely from Egypt, where H&K delivered 608 G36s in 2003, licensed by the smart and foresightful government of Germany.
This is what happens when you export weapons to democratic and non-corrupt nations like Egypt.

Source please. France delivered some weapons to the rebels in the summer, that's afaik the only EU country which did so.

The sights are much much better in reality, really great and ideal for most combat distances.

A caption is not an article, and - as said before - a picture is no proof.
The serial numbers of the found G36s were filed off, so the orign of the guns is not clear.
They are also produced in Spain and Saud-Arabia, there are also rumors that Iran produces them illegally.

Professional as in posing for a pic .
His shoulder doesn't support the stock and the strap is in front of the trigger.
To his defense I can say that he most likely uses the gun as a substitute for binoculars, rather than being in direct combat. At least he doesn't have the finger on the trigger like the Somali lady

Most pics and vids i have seen had been free style hip shooters-i did not dig too much...
I was wondering sometimes how they succeeded in taking the country.
This guy as i said is the best i have seen-more or less looks professional.

I read some time ago, that only a small minority of soldiers in combat (~10%) fire targeted shots. The rest justs shoots into the general direction of the enemy, or just fires to calm down their own nerves. And this was about trained soldiers. With untrained combatants, like the Libyan rebels, the numbers must be significant smaller.

But firing from the hip is so yesterday:

If i remember shooting MAG this way used to be part of military training at a time.
As for combat shooting-it may depends on situation and what you had been hammered into the little primal brain.
Sometimes you can act correctly simply on impulse.
