Default Leaked Helmet Cam Footage from Australian Soldiers in Afghanistan

Note sure if the video will work everywhere outside Aus, but you should be able to read the story. http://hungrybeast.abc.net.au/stories/defence-secrecy

Why would our defence department still require the footage to be witheld in order to no jeopardise operations, when it had already been through the Army chain of command and cleared for public viewing?

The footage itself is pretty good and the even stranger thing is when the story was cleared, the only thing highlighted was the wounded soldiers, NOT the successful operation!

What do these morons in Canberra think we want to hear?

Thought as much. If I can find a site hosting a freely available one I'll post it.

I want to know if they found any sandviches in the house.

I didn't really get much from this. There seemed to be some small arms fire and a few grenade explosions. I couldn't see any enemy combatants. Were there hostile elements or civilians inside the house? Some narration would have been helpful.

I thought the video was good...gave a good sense of perspective.

They were under fire from the house and round the back you might have seen a gun barrel and supports (some sort of LMG I guess), poked out of the doorway. The soldiers took some shots and then threw in a grenade.

This is the raw footage with the bits where soldiers faces could be seen blacked out.

The real story is the delay by the Dept of Defense in releasing the story when the chain of command from the ground commander up had cleared it for release and then focussing their press release on the wounded rather than the success of the mission.
