Leaked Helmet Cam Footage from Australian Soldiers in Afghanistan
Note sure if the video will work everywhere outside Aus, but you should be able to read the story. http://hungrybeast.abc.net.au/stories/defence-secrecy
Why would our defence department still require the footage to be witheld in order to no jeopardise operations, when it had already been through the Army chain of command and cleared for public viewing? The footage itself is pretty good and the even stranger thing is when the story was cleared, the only thing highlighted was the wounded soldiers, NOT the successful operation!:88) What do these morons in Canberra think we want to hear? |
Only viewable in Australia. :-?

One should have jumped on the roof and started sniping from there . Watch out for the enemy in light vehicles that try to run you over . Wheres the dude that just constantly hand grenades everyone ?

I didn't really get much from this. There seemed to be some small arms fire and a few grenade explosions. I couldn't see any enemy combatants. Were there hostile elements or civilians inside the house? Some narration would have been helpful. |
I thought the video was good...gave a good sense of perspective.

This is the raw footage with the bits where soldiers faces could be seen blacked out. The real story is the delay by the Dept of Defense in releasing the story when the chain of command from the ground commander up had cleared it for release and then focussing their press release on the wounded rather than the success of the mission. |
