Using Tutorial V 2.0 by Hitman ... Need Help

My torps are all missing. I set up a small mission with 3 boats, 2 fairly columnar and one trailing. I set up a shot for the south boat in the single column and the second torp hit the trailing boat and I was baffled.

I followed the tutorial and when I realized I was measuring the boat lengths wrong

I went to the website's encyclo, set up another shot to the starboard side and both missed

. Now I am sailing as part of the convoy alongside humiliated

having failed in my duty. The crew is laughing at me.
