it is late 1941, the war with the soviet union is under way, why the F*CK did i get a -133.50 renown for sinking 5 of their ships?

Did you hit a convoy? Some times hostile and neutral ships will mix in a convoy. This makes it very easy to hit and kill a neutral ship by mistake.

Sounds like one or two of the ships were neutral.

Mistakes can and do happen....sinking a neutral by mistake is the most common way of losing renown.

It would be nice if the game, in an after patrol report, would explain your renown. Renown is supposed to be a metric of your performance. Since your patrol log already records which ships you sink, I wish it also told you where you F-ed up.

Consider the measly renown you received - for risking the lives of your crew and yourself in the furtherance of your nations interests- to be a fair simulation of the kind of value placed on your efforts by the bloated "desk captains" who inhabit the higher ranks of the Kriegsmarine.

Unfortunately, unlike yourself, they stand no chance whatever of being killed off in the course of the war.

LoL this is more like Captain error than game error, this did happen to me once, sank 3 US C3 Cargo ships among a british convoy and got -700 renown in return.

I knew these were neutrals, I was more than close enough to see the flag, and also they were the biggest targets in the convoy.

I just thought that it was our job to cut British supply, in fact I thought they would reward me heavily, but was wrong. I forgot that German U-Boats were only allowed to attack enemy ship and that unrestricted warfare was implemented after only after America joined the war.

Like I said human error...

Oh, and just wait till you get a report from HQ (baically wait till all Russian ports turn from green to red) then send them to Davy Jones' Locker
