Default [REQ] Decks Awash

Dont know if its come up before but was wondering about taking your boat to deksawash. At 7m my crew remain on deck but i cannot get on deck as the limit is 6m. 7.5 or even 8m would be a better depth but at 8 i usually lose my crew although have had two crew remaining on deck at 8m before. Wondering how to mod this very useful feature seen in GWX among others. Be good to get decks awash and be able to get on deck, any ideas guys.

At 7m

In GWX the surfaced depth of sub was changed in the cfg file to achieve that IIRC
Silent Hunter 5\data\Submarine\NSS_Uboat7b

SH5 VIIB

SurfaceDepth=5;meters

GWX VIIB

SurfaceDepth=8;meters

Change for whatever of the type 7s you are using

No didnt work, once dived could not suface again, couldnt get above 9m. For some strange reason when i changed the depth to 8m from 5m, as above, 9m was as close to the surface as i could get, just seeing the top of the conning tower.

Hmmm odd
Am runniing a type 7a and set the cfg to 8 mtrs

When set depth to 6m still have bridge crew and diesels
When set to 7m have crew and electrics

Set to 8m and have no crew and electrics

Looks like may be a discrepency somewhere
Note when depth says 5m depth gauge usually says 4.5 or there abouts
Had no trouble surfacing either using S key - straight back up to 5m

Will test some more

Am guessing somewhere there is a trigger for the electrics to cut in at 6 mtrs
Though damned if can find it
Was a lot easier in previous versions to alter this and cant believe its not possible straight out the box

More moddable my @ss

perhaps with this new freedom in scripting there could be a manual switch for electric motors? infact individual engine telegraph controls would be great too.

Thats something to hope for as electrics were used to move in and out of port etc
