Default Something wrong with distance I think

Something seems to be wrong with the distances.
When I use a ruler to measure the scaling help in the bottom left corner of the map it shows me a huge difference.
example: the map zoomed out so the scale shows me how much is 15 km. I use the ruler and draw a line there and it tells me 17.5 km?!
Why is that?

You are right, mine shows 11km.

Not that I use the scaling thingy, but still.

EDIT: 600km scaler gave me around 430km when using the ruler.

I'm sure the ruler and the actual distance between objects is just fine. Propably just problems with "calibration" of the scaler.

At work, so I can't try it myself atm, but does the ruler distance when applied to the U-Boat lengh (or any other ship for that matter) fit to scale?

I don't think that the ship markers (or the uboat marker) have been scaled so they represent the real length of the object.

Hmmm. Time to test this out this evening, I assume. But giving Torpedo symbols usually hitting the ship at the right spot both in the engine itself and on the map updates, it may fit after all.

My money is on that 15km scale "graphic" not being scaled correctly.

Tools should be working fine. I'm sure we would have noticed it sooner if they weren't.

Cant test with merchants (as there's none around), but the uboat marker's length is 100 meters, so atleast the uboat marker is not reflecting the real length. You make a good point about the torpedo thing, tho.

For me the ships in the navigation map are scaled and the sizes are ok. The problem seems to be in the 3d map ... maybe they will fix this

I think yall are getting excited about nothing.

The scale indicator is just a rough estimation that is rounded off.
