Ship convoys or single ships?

Hi Mates,

Is there any parameter files that can be changed to increase the numer of convoy and or single ships in campaigns?

Hello Joe,

There are (as far I know) two possibilities to increase the traffic:

(examples for Arctic_convoys)

1. Open the file traffic.mis with a text editor like Notepad.

\Silent Hunter 5\data\Campaigns\CampaignProjects\Arctic_Convoys\t raffic.mis

here search for the Lines "CooldownDays=xxxxxxxx"
(it´s the time for respawn)

now you can decrease all the values individually

if ready you can copy the new traffic.mis to the other folders, because there are usually the same

for convoys you must do the same with Convoys.mis

2. another way (but i have not tested and better you only do with the single ships- traffic.mis):

you copy the exist traffic.mis in the same folder and rename it in (for example) traffic2.mis

now you open the file \Silent Hunter 5\data\Campaigns\CampaignProjects\Arctic_convoys.p j

and append for example

[LayerXX]
LayerType=0
MissionName=traffic2.mis

where XX is an ascending counter

as next you increase the counter in the second line (NumLayers=XX) by one (NOTE:Layer designations starting at 0)
this you also perform for the other campaigns

Now you have doubled the traffic, and because the game generate individally ships with their own individually speed is it very unlikely that you meet there in pairs

greetings

uekel

Uekel,

Thanks for the info.

I undestand item #1, but I don't see how item # 2 will generate multiple single ships, unless I duplicate item 2 #2 many times, 1 for each new ship?

No, not fo each ship. This file is for all the nodes (comparable with an harbour), and node groups (shipping routes), individually.

It´s look like this:

[LanesGraph.Node 1.NodeGroup 1]
Type=TRAF_MERCHANT
Name=TRAF_001 <------------- group name
Country=British
Speed=0.000000
StartDate=19380101
EndDate=19451231
ReportPosTime=4101
ReportPosProbability=50

[LanesGraph.Node 1.NodeGroup 1.NGMission 1]
Name=Tobruk
ObjectiveType=0
TargetNode=Tobruk
PathNodes=
UsePath=false
CooldownMonths=0
CooldownDays=1.500000 <--------- after this time the traffic.mis generate a new ship for this group
CrtCooldownHours=12.000000
CooldownHours=1
Priority=0
RewardPoints=0
StartDate=19410408
EndDate=19411127
.
.
.
.

My thought was: The traffic.mis generate one and at the same time traffic2.mis the second. Due to the different travel speed of these ships, in some distance from the harbour, you don´t see that they spawn together.

So far, so good.
________________

But......... it doesn´t work, because the use the same group names (marked in green)

Remains only #1.

It is a lot of work. I have done it several times, but it was for a mod.

greetings

uekel
