Toasted the Game - Again!

Last thing I remember doing not out of the ordinary was promoting a senior cheif with 15 patrols to subLT. But having done this before a coincidence, I hope. Tried going back a few saves, even to last in - base save the game starts " Paused ".
Same thing with a new carrer started with commander or not. Had two great carrers rolling, *sigh* and how many times have we reinstalled SH3 this year so far?
Damn, ^%*$#!@|{} even.

939 XP 2 gigs GWX 1.03
Any thoughts as to the cause?

You must have forgotten that Karl Doenitz's idiot nephew is also on your boat and looking for a promotion.

Es wird gesagt, dass die Politik sind ein Killer. Besonders zu SHIII.

Check your data/Cfg/Main.cfg file in both SHIII and My Documents/SH3/data/cfg/Main.cfg and make sure the entry "RealTime" under Time Compression says "=1" and not "=0" in both.

Don't promote the lowly swine to officer status. He will also puke on your dinner table

I compared the main.cfg files from a multish3 install, interesting thing the entire [TIME COMPRESSION] section is missing in the GXW folder (my docs), one of the player/carrer sections is gone as well. I'll try and slab the [T-C] section in there but it might take a prayer to restore the missing player.

thanx btw

I had forgotten about the Time Compression section going missing in the file in My Documents. Copying and pasting the one from the sim file into it will fix it as I recall now.

And that is just what I did. I am not positive if making a phony [PLAYER] section with the correct name in place was nessesary, but it seems to have fixed the game and saved the carrer! Rolled back and loaded the game from last save at base just to be safe. Thanx again!
So I lost 1 patrol. Ironic as I was making a run through Gibraltar. Think I'll stick with the N. Atlantic

Re: Carreer deaths

Thou shalt backup thy SH3 career files after every exit from the game!

Be more aggressive!

(I sure hope JScones adds this to SH3Cmdr or some bright coder makes a prog to do this. It sure would have saved you and Brag some grief, among others!)

Dang search for a solution to the Game Paused issue brought back a thread I forgot about long ago.

Well I checked the [x] full screen option under 7 x64 and started the game under commander like I normally would, and the game basicaly crapped itself.
Did the copy [Time compression] - section trick and that worked.
Note: check your realism options if this happens to you, all mine got reset.
Lost the last patrol.
