Order of the Rising Sun Medal :


WWII Japanese Order of the Rising Sun 7th Class Medal
This is a very finely crafted deep enameled medal with kanji identification on the back. It features deep green and purple colors of deep baked enamels of the paulownia flower on a silver body.
It measures 30mm across the arms, and 45mm top of the ring to the bottom.




WWII Japanese Order of the Rising Sun 8th Class Medal
This is a very finely crafted medal with kanji identification on the back. It features deep green and purple colors of deep baked enamels of the paulownia flower on a silver body.
It measures 30mm across the arms, and 45mm top of the ring to the bottom.




WWII Japanese (Manchurian) Order of Auspicious Clouds
This is a very finely crafted deep enameled medal with silver rays.
It measures 62mm across, and 95mm top to the bottom (not including the ribbon loop). The neck ribbon measures 14 inches in circumference as shown.




WWII Japanese Order of the Rising Sun Breast Medal
This is a very finely crafted deep enameled medal with gilt short and long rays applied on a large silver starburst.
It measures 91mm in diameter.
The back is shown here. There is a wide flat pin and two hook retainers. The enameled star is attached with four screws, as shown.

Imperial Japanese Life Saving At Sea in Gold Cased Medal This is a very rarely encountered medal.
This is a very finely crafted deep enameled medal with a translucent blue enamel and gilded lifeboat bow center with white enamel life ring on an unfouled anchor.





WWII Japanese Submariner Qualification Badge
This is a two-piece silver on painted copper badge. There is some slight wear to the high portions of the paint and on the back and on the flat pin.
It measures 37mm (1-1/2 inches) in diameter. That's 38mm wide and 36mm high.





WWII Japanese Order of the Golden Kite 4th/5th Class Medal Pendant and 5th Grade Ribbon
This is a very finely crafted deep enameled medal with silver rays, brilliant enamel and gilded eagle.
It measures 46mm across, and 50mm top to the bottom.
The back is shown here.
The condition is near excellent an intact throughout. There is a 5th Grade ribbon suspension present. The only difference between the 4th and 5th grade is the addition of a rosette to the 5th grade ribbon.




WWII Japanese Order of the Rising Sun 4th Class Medal Pendant
This is a very finely crafted deep enameled medal with gilt short rays and long rays with paulownia flower suspension.
It measures 46mm across, and 74mm top to the bottom.

Default wooden compass




Imperial Japanese 3-3/4 inch diameter profusely marked compass.
This is a very well-made lacquered wood hand lettered compass with a suspended needle used to indicate north. The compass is completely functional.
It measures approximately 3/4 inches thick, with the central compass portion measuring 7/8 inches in diameter.
This is a view of the back, showing serial numbers and maker marks.

IMPERIAL JAPANESE NAVY - ORDER OF THE GOLDEN KITE (Kinshi Kunsho)

The Order was instituted in 1890 and conferred for bravery, leadership or command in battle. There were seven grades as follows:
General and Flag officers: 1st - 3rd grade
Officers: 2nd - 4th grade
Junior officers: 3rd - 5th grade
Non-commissioned officers: 4th - 6th grade
Soldiers and Sailors: 5th - 7th grade
A total of 1,067,492 were awarded until its official abolition in 1947.
