What a waste of Grant Money from MIT.

Another case of the "NUTS" running the Asylum.

When money is tight then, this.

personally, i have never once played WOW.

I only know one person who plays it routinely... his skin is amazingly pale, and his conversation inevitably drifts to WOW.

one of my best friends was this person's room mate in college... he said that in the summer or spring breaks when there were no classes... it was common to only catch a glimpse of him emerging from his room to grab food or go to the bath room... occasionally he would go days without showering.

a lot of us could be the same about our subsims.

but i for one have not touched a subsim in 2 weeks. furthermore... i almost never talk about it to random people at parties or dinners (unless they have expressed interest in the subject)

I played WoW for a while but I never found it that addicting. The amount of time required to grind for exp or items just isn't worth it. Plus, it is infested with disagreeable little punks who think caps lock is cruise control for awesome.

Sounds like this WoW game is more geared for the land of NERDS and GEEKS.

well in every day life... this particular person i know would not normally be someone i would place in the geek / nerd category.

that said...

i think that a majority of the wow crowd is made up of "nerds and geeks"... not that there is anything wrong with that.

but think of it this way... WOW allows a player to assume a role and become something in fantasy that he is not able to be in reality. there are certain personality types to which this is most appealing. and when this fantasy is fed - it can grow to become an addiction.
