What a waste of Grant Money from MIT.

Another case of the "NUTS" running the Asylum. :haha:

When money is tight then, this.

For crying out loud... :shifty:

personally, i have never once played WOW.

I only know one person who plays it routinely... his skin is amazingly pale, and his conversation inevitably drifts to WOW.

one of my best friends was this person's room mate in college... he said that in the summer or spring breaks when there were no classes... it was common to only catch a glimpse of him emerging from his room to grab food or go to the bath room... occasionally he would go days without showering.

a lot of us could be the same about our subsims.

but i for one have not touched a subsim in 2 weeks. furthermore... i almost never talk about it to random people at parties or dinners :haha: (unless they have expressed interest in the subject)

I played WoW for a while but I never found it that addicting. The amount of time required to grind for exp or items just isn't worth it. Plus, it is infested with disagreeable little punks who think caps lock is cruise control for awesome.

FIREWALL 04-27-09 12:42 PM

Sounds like this WoW game is more geared for the land of NERDS and GEEKS. :har:

GoldenRivet 04-27-09 12:55 PM

well in every day life... this particular person i know would not normally be someone i would place in the geek / nerd category.

that said...

i think that a majority of the wow crowd is made up of "nerds and geeks"... not that there is anything wrong with that.

but think of it this way... WOW allows a player to assume a role and become something in fantasy that he is not able to be in reality. there are certain personality types to which this is most appealing. and when this fantasy is fed - it can grow to become an addiction.

Was just throwing some levity into this thread.

No personal attacks were meant or intended. :DL

More levity please! :yeah:

no i never thought there was any personal attack at all.

but it is true... the addiction i mean, people get addicted to these things

There is no question that WoW is aimed at the lowest common denominator, and gets it.

That being said I've had my fair share of ... well.. difficult people in other MMO's. Its the whole anonimity thing. Act like an ass without fear of reprisal.

Now if only they made one for "EvE Online"

I dumped wow few days back thought i never would after nearly 3yrs of playing this game on a weekly basis. But ever since the WOTLK expansion came out i kinda was getting bored of it but still played on even though they added in a lot of xtra stuff like the DK class, achievements/new raids yet still it is a dying game its like with every expansion Blizzard brings out wow gets worse not better. Just before i quit, the tournament was added into the game with patch 3.1 where u can dual on your mounts but not even that helped i quit the day after.

Now i play Warhammer online! :har: And i must add its a far better game than wow! Witch hunters

PS: anyone wanna buy a Wow acc my hunter lvl 80 has both Spirit beasts pets not easy to get hold off, and has pvp hateful gear, 450 in both professions mining/engineering, to many other not so important stuff to mention. ACC is US. Server is Azshara. :)

Nothing personal but this is one of the main issues with mmorpgs.

Dont worry about actually accompliishing things yourself, just buy it. Instant gratification.

I used to play, got up to level 45, its fun but meh, I kinda want to play it again but my graphics card won't let me (yay ati2dvg infinite loop)

My Father however plays it while he's on the road, (Truck Driver), and has managed to get to 75.

The main issue with it is the Grind in my eyes, I just can't do it.

Its not really as bad as everyone says though, but it seems like alot of people who get into it get sucked in too deep.
