Yea heard about this.

One was rescued, found sitting atop their 21'-0" boat. No word on the other three.

I guess they either dident check the forcast or underestamated the small craft warning that was issued on that day.

Much too small of a boat to be 30/50 miles offshore. No way would I try that.

Same here.....used to have a fishing boat (10 knots max) 27 footer (radio, sonar, but no radar) never left sight of land.

My Dad took us into the Atlantic out of the intracoastal once when we lived in Fort Lauderdale in a 21 footer. Good thing we were tied to the bow rail. Didn't even get far enough out to really say we were in the ocean and the first wave went totally over the boat and dropped a 3 foot fish in my Grandmother's lap. Turning around between waves was a trick, but we never left the canals again after that.

That is a pretty small boat to be that far out, but Ive done it.

We do check the weather before we leave though.

The weather on that day I can attest was not suitable for anything smaller than a cruise liner. Dont know what those guys were thinking, if they were thinking at all.

Bad news though the search efforts have been abandonded and the remaining men considered lost at sea.
