Update on the Cavalla/Seawolf Park status after Hurricane Ike. The Cavalla Historical Foundation have set aside Oct 11 as a field day for us to climb all over the sub and clean, repair, and in general, help get Cavalla shipshape. If you want to help, please bring a set of old clothes and gloves.

Also, donations are being accepted for this event. You will get a special t-shirt, I suggest not working in it. Wear it proudly at special occasions.

The Cavalla has some water in the ATR and engine rooms. It's a little above the deck in the ATR, but he said about 2-3 feet in the engine room bildges. He indicated that the other compartments did have some water come in - probably through the ventilation lines, but it's minimal. The water in the ATR and engin room bildges is oily, so it cannot be pumped out directly, but we'll need to get a disposal truck in for that.
