Default GWX2.0 a strange problem

I may need 2.1, not sure. I'm using the latest SH3 Commander as well. I took my IIA to Lerwick sub base and sank a 1188 ton V&W class, and it appeared on my logbook. But when I got back to base it said no kills, and yet my reputation had been raised from 50 to 388.

I exited to SH3 Commander and updated the personnel file. For patrol one it said 0/0 for merchants/warships, and yet when I looked at the patrol log it listed the sunken V&W class in there.

I just don't get it. Does anybody have an idea what on earth is wrong with my game?

Any ideas/suggestions/solutions would be greatly appreciated.

this is an ancient stock bug as old as the hills...

did you return to base by driving your sub back to the dock?

or

did you make ANY changes to your boat prior to the first patrol of this career?

if you did either of those things it can result in loss of all credit for any sinkings or downed aircraft on that patrol. however it should only do this on your first patrol.

DO NOT make changes to your boat prior to completing at least one patrol... that is usually why this happens.

I had the exact same thing happen to me when I sank two enemy subs. Never figured out why.

i recommend page 12 of the GWX manual to get you guys cought up to date.

after you have finished page 12... i highly recommend you read pages 1 through 11, followed by 13 through 548 (appendix are also highly recommended)

Thanks a lot GoldenRivet, I read the manual for the first GWX and just skimmed this updated version. I guess I missed that bit in both. My apologies.

All I changed from memory was the side emblem and put a couple of different torps aboard, as I spent all my starting renown but 50 on crew......I guess that's enough to qualify as an 'upgrade'?

Oh, and yeah, I always finish right in the dock.

Thanks again for your trouble, anyway.

no sweat this is an old issue.

to my knowlege if you change anything on the boat before patrol one this can happen.

if it doest happen on patrol one it shouldnt happen to you at all for that career IIRC

good luck, you might delete the career and start it over if you want... and just keep in mind that you shouldnt modify the boat in any way or return right up to the dock on the first patrol.

Tid one bonus of running a shakedown cruise starting August 1st
Dock after 4\5 days ( set SH3 commander to 20 days in port ) and your next patrol is around 24th August
Plenty of time to reach patrol grid before war starts

As its also the first patrol and you arent gonna sink anything no renown to lose

Unless you start in the 7th and sink the target vessels
Meh

How can you start in August '39? I tried to do this with SH3 Commander but Sep is the earliest....I was thinking of simulating a 'training' run with my sub, to analyze all systems prior to an actual war patrol, deep water diving, torpedoing the odd wreck, dive times, crush depths etc.

I'd love to be able to do that, as I'm a realism freak who enjoys cruising and taking screenies as much as doing the dirty work.

Of course, playing one of the subs sent into the North Atlantic in August would alse be sweet.

I realize I'm a complete n00b.

did you download and install GWX 2.1 and download and install Sh3 Commander version 3.0 or greater?

did you download and install the GWX SH3 Commander CFG files?

you should be able to select 8-39 as a start month and year if you did so

I've got the latest Commander & the cfg files excepting shipnames, but I've only got GWX 2.0. That must be it.
