I think it's a bit too much doom and gloom for me. For a long time now this country has had a dependency on foreign oil. Even foreign oil bought from people who don't like us.

I hope that some scientists give synthetic fuel another good objective evaluation now that dead dinosaurs are going for $120 a barrel.

All in all it sounds like plain, healthy reason to me, and is not much different from what I say since long. America needs more self-critical sense of realism like this guy's - much more.
