All was going well for U-159 and we were on our way back from a patrol with 12k sunk when suddenly from the mist a Destroyer shot forth mid Atlantic. Crash dived and tried to evade, tried to get it to stick to my decoy instead of me but to no avail, his third string was dead on. After geting the flooding under controll I asked the chief for a damage report and this is what he gave me. Was a bitter pill to swollow, but U-159 surfaced, scutled the boat and surrendered to the enemy. 49 of the complement of 50 men survived.

I must admit that is the one advantage SH2 has over SH3 that you could surrender.

Allready back, up and runing, this time in U-106 a type IXB. One war patrol under my belt with 35901 tons sunk including the Royal navys auxiliary cruiser HMS Carthage who went down sailing with a convoy which lost two other ships M/V St. Clears and M/V Stag Hound (III), both medium sized cargo vessels. Im begining to see what people see in the type IX
