Default Disco Diver

Well, I've noticed my new avatar is the infamous "Village People" style kaleun.

The brave crew of U-47, the "Fist of Poseidon", have already finished hanging the disco ball in the command room. I'm not sure if the CE is happy about having to wear buckskins and a feathered headdress, but he's in good company with the WO's cowboy outfit, NAV's construction worker attire, and the WEP's cop uniform. The Torpedo Officer has barricaded himself in the forward tube room. I have the feeling his new "butch" biker leathers are the cause.

SOP on board now includes that all crew must wear bell-bottoms, gold chains, platform shoes, and shirts unbuttoned halfway. Dress uniform will be polyester leisure suits. Crewmen without large moustaches and groomed chest hair will be severely reprimanded with suspension of skating privileges for the weekly roller-dancing on deck with the rest of crew.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go make sure the half-moon bubble windows are getting installed properly on the conning tower to go with the "desert southwest" mural being painted on the hull. After that, it's time for lessons in doing the "Hustle".

(I can only pray we get sunk by the enemy before we get to redecorating for "Wild Night In Bangkok". )

[EDIT]
It appears we're not going to be so fortunate...

Obltn. z. S. Joseph Schutz: Look alive there, men! We have to take down that disco ball before the red velvet curtains go up!

WO Ernst Bachman: Kapitan, the 14 cases of "Eau de Trampe" have been loaded.

Kaleun: Well done, Ernst. Make sure its distributed among the crew and have them apply it liberally to themselves and every available surface of the boat. Have the beaded curtains been hung in the Hydro and Radio shacks?

WO: Jawol, herr Kapitan. We also had surprisingly little trouble getting our Torp Officer out of the forward tube room to change his biker leathers for that chiffon dress. Claims it brings out his eye color quite nicely. Ah! Here he comes.

TO August Kimmelman: Kapitan, does this rouge make my cheeks look fat?

Kaleun: Nein, Lord Aalman. You look quite fetching. Better than I do in this pink taffeta gown! No go aft and make sure those tasseled pillows are properly laid out in my bunk.

TO: [blushing] Thank you, Kapitan! Forward crew compartment is nearly done. The lace certainly brightens things.

Kaleun: Chief! Where's the Chief?

CE Horst Eichler: Here, Kapitan! It's difficult getting around in these high-heels.

Kaleun: War is hell, Chief. We all must bear our burdens and do our duty. Make ready to get under way. We're heading out as soon as the topside crew finishes the pink paint.

CE: Ja, Kapitan! The crew finished painting just a short time ago.

Kaleun: Then it's time. All hands to stations! Set internal lighting to red and keep it there! We have new mission orders to intercept a convoy and sink it...one sailor at a time!
Set speed to "ahead strut", Chief.

Great visuals there, GP. Have you seen Stardust? Robert De Niro at his sweetest...uh, finest.

I can't say I recall seeing "Stardust", but "The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert" and "To Wong Foo" did come to mind.

I still have these horrible flashbacks about Patrick Swayze and Wesley Snipes, but John Leguizamo was kinda cute as a "chica".

Okay, I'm going to burn in Hell for that last part...

I suppose I'll have to reassert my manliness by watching Spike TV 24 hours straight and letting my back hair grow out. :p

Your boat is named the "Fist of Poseidon"? You may want to change that name, if you know what i mean...
