3 big dogs and no fish

Im near Gibraltar and have come across three big boys and no fish in the tubes... waves are big'ish. Well lets just say I cant use the deck gun. If I go inside of SH3 commander and change the wave hieght will it bust my save file and screw me out of super good patrol? Already at 25000 tons and I just got to my AOP.

Follow the prey, and when the weather is good. Surface and blow them with the deckgun.
