Encounter with a Trawler

Since getting GWX I don't find a lot of lone ships so after a failed patrol I headed up the channel looking for trouble. We found it in an ASW trawler we decided to attack it on the surface. I set the gas torpedoes to fast and 1m and the electrics to 1m depth and launched everything at 3000 m no hits and she turns towards us to take us on.
I armed the deck gun with warrant officers and open fire at 2000, missing over and over while they light us up with a searchlight and firing wildly.
we take a direct hit to front quarters and the diesel engine room and I have to stop fighting to get damage control going. I put adolf on the flak gun and start raking the trawler with 20mm trying to knock out the searchlight while ordering the 88 to fire at the bridge. I check on the diesel situation and come back up and the trawler had sunk! nice david vs goliath battle.

I could have attacked from underwater , it was kind of suicidal but I thought our deck gun crew would be better.

You wasted a torpedo on a glorified fishing boat!

Go find something bigger to sink!

BDU might be putting you ashore if you keep this up!

No.....not in exact terms.

That salvo you 'wasted' could have led to you being awarded a substantially higher amount of renown though

Next time you see an armed trawler... let her sail down her path withouth interrupting, it's just not whort it! It certainly does not worth 3 eels!

I don't usually mess with them For the tonage and the problems they can wreak, they are not worth it.
