Hey everybody, new SHIII player on the forum!

Hey everyone, I'm new here...

Now, is it just meh, or do I suck at shooting planes down? Because on the tutorial (yes the TUTORIAL!!), I can't seem to gun down those planes. And I know that I won't be too successful if I can't shoot down planes.

OK, so hope everyone's alright. BTW SHIII is very good, from what I've done so far. I've only done a bit of the tutorial, so I'm not too well-versed.

Welcome aboard Princess! Please allow me to be the first..(as I'm sure there will follow more!)...one to welcome you to the forum!

I would assume by tutorial you are referring to the "Academy"...and hence the Flak Gun Exam... The trick here, is to lead the target, well ahead of its flightpath, as it takes some time to get those bullets up there where he is.

Have you installed any of the various "Mods" found here?

Don't worry about not being able to shoot down planes. When you're out at sea, if you see an enemy plane, you really don't want to be shooting it; you want to be pressing C to crash dive and praying a lot.

We all suck at shooting down planes! That's why we dive deep when we think we saw something on the sky!
Hope you enjoy your SHIII experience, and don't worry about what some people might say... take your time to learn how to play it the way you like it the most!

Welcome Princess. Practice might help, but that flack exercise is a bear. Don't worry about it as you yourself have better things to do than shooting aiplanes.

Real U-Boats also had a problem with aircraft so it is suppose to be that way.

You have no Leonidas orders so dive before the plane gets anywhere near you.

Your job is to stem the flow of supplies to the evil and most fowl English and later Amerikaneren Schwein! (To be said with the accent of a German in an old 1930's anti-Nazi movie)

Hurry up with your training and make the Irish happy by killing the English.

Welcome aboard, don`t worry too much about the a/c, steer clear of them like most Kapitans. I only try to take them on if I`m caught on the surface, and unable to crash dive, my flak gunner peels potatoes for the cook.

If I'm in a situation where I can't submerge and I have planes coming in, I toss a few crew members onto the flak gun. They're much better shooters than I am.
