How do you make an MSI?
the question pretty much speaks for itself. I am in the process of uploading a large assembly mod for future mp partners and with it I have included assembly instructions which are simple enough. but it would be made simpler if I could learn how to make an installer anybody?:hmm: |

Not sure it's really what you're looking for, but I've been using a little thing called setupdev. It basically creates a setup exe that allows for desktop shortcuts, registry entries and all manner of good stuff.
You can take a look at it at http://www.softpedia.com/get/Authori...SetupDev.shtml |

I think both Wise Installer or Package Studio and InstallShield will package MSIs for you.

Visual Studio will do it as well.
You might check out WiX. It's a free toolset that will create MSIs for you, developed by a guy on the setup team at microsoft. http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa302186.aspx http://sourceforge.net/projects/wix/ |
