The 7,000 tons Blues Hoochie Woochie

November 1941.

J.S. Balz writes:

Liberty ships here, Liberties there. Bloody Liberties everywhere. Saw my first Liberty ship a few days ago. Sent it to the bottom with one torpedo in the normal grand Balz way.

The next bastard Liberty got a torp, same place, sure Balz kill spot. Assisted by aircraft , the beggar made it into Gibraltar.

It took two torpedoes to sink the next Liberty. What in the bloody hell is the matter, have I sunk all the good oldie large Brit. freighters? Not only these stinking 7K tonners are lousy for tonnage earned but refuse to sink.

In Tanker Alley, what do I find? Instead of tankers, two blinking Liberties. It took 5 torpedoes and 12 hours to sink the sumbithies!

The Americans wouldn't give me a visa so I could take my choir to sing on Broadway. Now they send this Liberty crap across the ocean. What does it mean. What does it mean, I ask?

Kptlt. Johan Sebastian Balz, the Magnificent.

I think it means you better go over to the US and sink them before they get close to England...that is what I think...

Default L-ships and allied tactics

I sink L-ships with one hit at about 1/4 of ships length from the bow to the stern. They take their time to sink in GWX but I assume this is because flooding takes its time.

I think the allies have started a successful counter-Balz-tactic. Send oh-so-many junk ships and bore him to death....
:rotfl:

I for myself will become very nasty in my careers starting with mid-42. My personal vendetta is to kill the hunter-killer-groups, the more the better.
I still need to learn how to shoot down the whole RAF coastal command :hmm:
maybe GWX 1.04 will give me ample opportunity to train

It seems like the Allies are sending these so called Liberty ships (more like auxillary destroyers to me), to annoy Balz so much, that he gives up command of U-boats and goes to a desk job.

2747 to go, if I understand Cpt. Balz after action report correct...

Ok, here we go:

Upper deck, all hands attention, ready for departure
engine room, stand by to answer bells in 10 minutes
navigator, plot course to the open sea
1WO, report combat readiness in 9 minutes
