Default [Help] Blue Bow Wave and Wakes

I don't know if this is the correct forum to post this but, anyway here goes. I have a problem with the colour of the wakes and bow waves, Instead of being white they are light blue (all of them ships and subs). I can't figure out why this is as the water coming out of the limber holes in my sub is white and also conning tower foam and water splashes etc are also white. has anyone encountered this or have any solutions, as I'm finding its becoming pretty distracting.

I have an ATI graphics card don't know if that has something to do with it.

It's not just an issue on ati cards, I get it on my gf 8800gtx card too. When I switch to external view, for a second or so the bow wake has a blue tint to it, then it appears white as it should do.

Thanks for the welcome Reallydedpoet I've been lurking about for a bit and there is some really cool stuff on here!

As to the wakes, mine are a pale blue all the time even in the museum. Its as if all the areas of the wake/bow wave graphics that should be white are rendered in this blue colour. I did notice however that the only white wake is one on the hospital ship mod I downloaded perhaps the fact its a ported Sh3 ship might have something to do with that? I wondered if it might be an ATI problem because I've read that they don't support all of the effects e.g. lense flare on the sun. If it is ATI then I'm getting a new card soon anyway so problem solved otherwise I might try a clean install (remembering to save my mod folder!).

Other members may have some more info for you as well, as this thread is still new.

Default Talk to Redwine about this

He also mentioned to me in a PM about blue sub wakes and I think he figured out what was doing it. Just thought I would let you know he might be the best person for a quick responce seeing he mentioned it to me once.

Thanks for the info Leovampire. Ok I decided to try a clean install and found a couple of things out. In the stock game my bow/wake is white but when I patched up to 1.3 my bow/wake are now the same pale blue colour as before. I had no mods enabled so its a patch issue. In the official SH4 readme it states that in patch 1.1 it adds 'improved bow and wake textures'. So I'm taking a wild quess that somewhere along the line those improved textures aren't working correctly, on my system at least. So think that pins down the problem a bit.

Think I might give Redwine a PM and see if he can help.

Default there is a mod that Captain Cox made you might like

and I have pure white waves and foam effects with it

http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=114402

and

http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=114167

Maybe you can see if you like them. There are a few choices about how much bubbles and foam you want but the coloring is right on target.

I went with C.C.'s favorate recomendations for effects and I am totaly happy with it. I always used his less water limber hole mod but since I tryed these others he did I wish I had started to use them sooner.

Sadly i cant help ....

I have the same problem ....

I rolled back all my mods, i was unable to found a mod causing this anoying behaviour, if i am not wrong it may be a v1.3 stock behaviour...

Sure it is hexedecimal colour into particles files... but i was unable to solve it.

I need to try with oldest patch versions particles files, v1.2, v1.1....

Good if an "investigation" can be started here...
