Made it through 6th patrol
Hi guys,
I made it through my 6th patrols last night SH3 GWX 1.03, 90% realism. It was Arpil 1940, I was asigned to grid Am .. can't remember the grid #, it was south of Torshaven ... Anyway, after completing my 24 hours patrol I decided to go to the convoy route west of Ireland. On my way there, I got a report that an enemy TF is heading NE, right to my direction. I planned an intercept course and about one day later, my WO reported ship sighting. Went to PD and silent running, and manuver my boat so that it's perpendicular to the TF course. After a long wait, periscope obeservation shows it's a big TF cnvoy. There's one Illustrious class, two Fijis class, and several V&Ws and C&Ds. I open my torp tube doors, wait until the convoy got closer and fire 2 torps to one Fiji class, and then another two torps are sent to the Illustrious. The torps hit the Fiji and then moment later the other two hit Illustrious and I got "She's going down" report. I check my log, it's the Illustrious that sinks first. I then dive to 120 m and sneak away from the convoy. Some 20 minutes later I got another "She's going down" report. Check the log, it's the Fiji After successfully get away from the destroyers that try to find me, I go back to Wilhelmshaven. On my way home, a report of a convoy leaving Stornoway heading East. I intercept the convoy and manage to sink 1 large cargo. Return to base, I got promoted to Kapitan Leutnant, got Iron cross with sword and oak, and collected enough renown (about 9300 renown so far) that I can upgrade my type VII B boat to VII C ... plus engine, battery and sonar upgrade

Nice, I bagged a illustrious carrier on my first patrol once, very cool experiance. If I was in your boots though I would have sent all four fish into the carrier, its a very high value target...more so than a Fiji. Congratulations on your kill herr kaleun! Its your round at the bar .
