What does this mean? I assume it his range of detection?

Thanks.

i think thats correct, it is the range inside which you are more likely to be detected based on a number of factors. i have been WELL inside this circle in very close proximity to a destroyer... and i was surfaced. It was dark with rough seas and i was barely moving at 2 knots. he never saw me.

So i wouldnt give much merit to these dashed circles.

PS im using GWX so if your using another flavor of SH3 i cant make promises you will have the same experience.

There are usually a couple of circles...one for sound-detection, one for radar, and one for visual detection.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think you only get the circles, if you ID the target first.
