Guten Abend, Kptlt. Grey,
I'm guessing your question is about how to pronounce "Die Grauen Wölfe" since it's easy enough to Babelfish the text. Naja... "Die" sounds like "Dee," and "Grauen" is pretty much just as it looks, except the German "r" is more like throat-clearing than the English "r". "Wölfe" if spelled phonetically might look like, "Voelfa." Though the umlaut ö is often written as oe, it's not quite that simple for Englanders; the mouth-shape takes time to learn. I think the phrase is used at least once in "Das Boot" if you have a copy -- by the captain of the Weser (the supply ship in Vigo), I believe. Mach's gut!

Thank you very much for the replies everybody
![]() Reason I asked and this next part is cool, with the update for GWX on the way, I thought at the beginning when they have the wolf howling, instead of having the letters GWX if they redid that slightly so it said Die Grauen Wölfe and then it sort of shimmered over into English to say "The Grey Wolves" What does this serve? Not a flippling dickiebird, pure indulgence and eye candy. lol Just an idea lol. I mean, I have a head full of ideas for SH3 but no skills to do it. So I am officially pestering the GWX team. ![]() |
