Default I transfer with my boat right?

I want to keep my IID as long as possible. But i'm getting pretty tired of the Kiel Canal.

1. Just confirming i can take my boat with me.
2. Is there a transfer i could make that would get me out of Kiel but remain in the North Atlantic (I can do 6500km at 6 kts in the iid).

Thanks.

I have always been allowed to keep my boat and crew on transfers.

BTW there are a lot of Sub with crew picturs by U-Boot # at the below site. Your boat # may be there and you can see what the real life boat and crew looked like. Worth a look under the Sub tab.

I never had my boat changed without specific request.

I think what i'll do is (since i was just sunk) once i upgrade to the iid, transfer to the 2nd flotilla so i can operate out of willhelmshaven until we transfer to brest. Then i'll just have to see how it goes. I guess i could use Commander to pick my own grids, but that seems kinda gamey to me.

*edit* Hey, thanks for the link, very cool website.

If you use the randomise button to choose your grid then you'll get one of the same grids that SH3 chooses for that particular month, year, flotilla and boat type, for it's drawn from teh same in-game list.

In fact, this is one of the best times to use the feature, because tranferring to a new flotilla does not always result in an updated patrol grid. Using SH3Cmdr's randomise grid feature ensures that you get a grid that under any normal circumstance SH3 would have given you.

Thanks, but i don't seem to see that option. Is that because my career is currently "at sea"?

The only "randomize" options i see in career options are for gramaphone tracks and number of day spent in port.

Yes, you can only select your patrol grid while in port, not at sea.
