Default GWX torpedoing tips?

I have been a long time away from SH3.Only lately i noticed this great mod (GWX).I read the manual, but it doesn't help much in this sector.

I noticed that magnetic shots under the keel aren't so effective as they used to be,while impact torpedoes seem doing more destruction (even immediate sinking). Is this true?I much prefer under the keel shots.

Is there any tip in GWX that i should follow?Should i forget about under the keel shots and go only for impact?Currently i have a large merchant. One shot under the keel midship, one impact at 4m around the engine area and it's still sailing. The only differece is a drop in speed. In stock SH3,i used to take most C3 with one shot under the keel. With 2 they were 99% condemned.

Play GWX (torpedo wise) just like you did vanilla

to explain this quikly

SH3 Uses a Hitpoint Damage model of the ships.
so if you hit the HOTSPOT it goes Kaboom/instant sinking

in GWX there is a different type of damage model that works with floodings
Under the Keel shot are still effective but sometimes it needs a bit more time.
also if you have a big ship , just fire a 2nd torpedo on impact against its side somewhere just to hurt the bastard real good.

Thank you both.Yes,i have read the manual about the new model.Compartments that flood, etc. It's just that maybe i get too lucky with impact lately and they seem to be more effective.Well,i am a bit rusty, maybe i must have patience. It's been much time since the last time i played SH3,i must remember the job again i guess.

If you hit most ships under the forward mast, they'll sink within 3 hours. So if you are not afraid of losing them, that will do. Mag under the keel work well, too.
