Default Do you think it's possible?

I've been trying to think of a way to get my last Hurrah's out of this game before SH4 comes out, and i wonder if a 1 million ton challenge is it.

I mean, for sure you'd have to start at the begining of the war when its a turkey shoot, and id probably have to un-nerf the tonnage ive reduced in my GWX tweak pack , but i really wonder if its possible. You'd have to sink some BB's or something i'd think. I also figure you'd also want expend all your torpedo's with the smallest number of days at sea possible to get back in, and out again with a fresh load. In short, i think you'd have to be aggressive as hell. I wonder if it's possible, and by what year. A 100K patrol in GWX is quite possible though.

So you figure 10 patrols at around 60 days tops, 31 days between patrols... im guessing 1 patrol could last (worst case scenario) 3 months. Thats 4 patrols a year, at 100K (best case scenario), so lets say 80K instead... times 4 patrols a year, equates out to about 320K a year , so in 3 years youd have 960K.

So assuming you started in 1939, you probably wouldnt reach the 1M mark tell sometime in 1943? Hmmm wow, that could take weeks or a month or two real world time playing a few hour every night.

:hmm:
Sounds like a challenge for a basket case.

It's probably doable, you might need to factor in upgrade days & I assume this would have to be in an IX, I'll find it hard to believe it would be possible in a type7.

To have the shortest patrol length you would need most of your patrols to leave from the west coast of France & catch the convoys coming/going to the Med.

Probably need SH3Cmdr tweaked to '1 day in base' after each patrol

Stock game, minimum settings, reload when you die...sure, it should be easy.

LOL, i didnt say i was going to do it, .. yet.. im only wondering if its possible- GWX, DiD.

Early war, is EASY EASY EASY. So i don't think dying would be much of an issue until around 1942. Truthfully i don't know if i have enough motivation left in this game to attempt it, but i have to wonder just the same.

It would seem to me the real challenge to getting to 1M tons isn't productivity - GRT per patrol - but rather surviving through 1943.

Your last hurrah .. ?
Sounds like just one more player challenge. Some games like Silent Hunter refuse to die off. I'm sure 4 will grab much attention, but the mods keep 3 alive. One of the best things about this game.

Heck there's tons of people still playing SimCity 4, from `03.
