Default Please don't stare at the pretty lights

4th patrol in my first serious career with GWX 1940. Two electric eels into the Southampton Cruiser in the middle of the convoy. Boy was it pretty watching the searchlights come on. What a sight. Every ship scanning the waters and parachute flares flying overhead - it was like a Holiday party at sea.

And then I was reminded that Southampton Cruisers are armed. The water began merrily splashing around my periscope and I knew, just knew, the cruiser was drawing a bead on me. For a second I was hypnotized by the spectacle of all her guns belching shells in my direction, and then common sense told me, "Hey dummy, get your can down deep" It was too late, I was smacked hard by a large shell destroying my bridge, periscopes and antenna.

Ha ha, I survived the damage and the cruiser went to the bottom.

2 hours of depth charges later and I came to the surface. I have no periscopes, 83% hull integrity, no antenna and a twitchy Uzo on what is left of my bridge. 9 fish left and I'm in AM53. I guess I'll be taking shots by intuition for the next couple days until I head for home.

Ain't GWX great, it almost made my wreck my boat!
