Default SettingS in my CCC

Any idea why these would be grayed out in my CCC?
I would like to check the setting "use centered timings" for some older games that are being stretched out fullscreen.

Unchecking that "enable GPU Scaling" changes nothing.

I have a 5850 1 gb Ati card and a Samsung T220 22 inch monitor.

If you need drivers for your monitor, it becomes necessary to have a name so you know where to look, unless Windows can do the update, it now where the error is...

As stated in the OP the monitor is a Samsung T220. Do you need also the SyncMaster part?

Driver is version 3. None newer at Samsung's website.

Can be said that in normal circumstances, so you do not update the screen, I myself and they screens I have, has never made any updates, it has always been enough to what has been done during the installation via the CD or System Link, and then because your "Problem" more about what settings and driver routines that you use now, to the graphics card

With the lastest version of CCC, the only way to make use of those options is to set your desktop res at something other than the monitor's native or recommended resolution.

I found that out the hard way when trying to make SH3 run fullscreen at 1400x1050 in a 4:3 aspect ratio instead of getting stretched out to fill a widescreen monitor. I had to reset the desktop resolution at something lower than the monitor's native 1680x1050, then check the option I wanted. Resetting the monitor to 1680x1050 greys out the options again, but I use a program called Display Changer to force a lower desktop res only when running SH3 and then return it to 1680x1050 when I exit the game. It took some doing but it all happens automatically and when the desktop res changes, somehow it also automatically reverts to the option I selected in that greyed out section of CCC. So it works for me.

A thousand thanks Frau Kaleun.

That is exactly what I needed. I also found the program and will put it to use.

Not really, lol, I found a reference to Display Changer in one of the Windows 7 threads in the SH3 forum when I was trying to get the game set up again after changing my OS. From there it was just grunt work.

What I ended up doing was, per the instructions for Display Changer, adding the necessary stuff in my desktop shortcut to the game. For whatever reason this works (at least for me) not only if I launch from the desktop shortcut, but when I launch from Commander as well. I wasn't sure that was going to work out, but it did. *shrugs*

RickC, hope you have the same good luck with it that I did. It's a long way to go to get the game to run that way with the newest CCC installed, but if you can get it to work automatically like I did, you won't have to think about it after that unless you change something else in your setup.

Frau, oddly enough I don't even need the program.

Last night I lowered my desktop rez and put a tick in that "maintain aspect ratio" setting in my CCC.

I launched the two older games I wanted to run in 4:3 format and they did that just as I wanted. I did not have time to play them so I reset my desktop to 1680x1050 (native for my Samsung) and shut my pc down for the night.

Today, both of those games run in a 4:3 format as if they remembered their last settings. They are doing this in spite of my desktop being set at 1680x1050 and those settings in my CCC being grayed out.
An odd, but pleasant surprise. Again, thanks for the help.

Interesting... it's been a while but it seemed like the only thing that worked for me was using Display Changer.

OTOH I have an HDTV in the same room hooked up as a second display, and as I remember that complicated things somewhat when I was trying to get it sorted out.

Anyway - glad you got it working the way you wanted!

You have the same option in your monitors onscreen setup menu (OSD). Probably set there.

I prefer non-scaling for the sharpest image. Only have to live with the black borders then...
