trembling water
I know this might be an old topic, but so far I have not been able to solve it.
Modded or unmodded, just after getting some speed, water starts trembling (I just reinstaled the game since long time no playing) and I don't remember that has ever happened to me. Any ideas or how to solve it? Tnx! |

What version? I've heard that Steam sells 1.3. I remember jello water except it may have been a modded 1.2.

Did you go through all of the steps in the How to re-install SH4 sticky Topic?
It should not display like that in an un-modded clean install. (obviously) I'd try re-installing again unless someone has another idea. I recommend using the Direct x 9 on the install dvd when asked during the install procedure. If you do install again, make a copy of the entire game folder, and use the copy so you don't ever need to install again. Don't play the new clean install version. You can use Multi SH4 to play the copied game.

That's the thing, it is happening now where in the past it did not happen (using the same rig), it happens very often, sometimes it doesn't. Basically it happens at high speed towards the water (either of the sub of the free cam).

Do you mean at high time compression, or when the boat goes fast? |

I done a bit of exploring on this problem a little while ago. I found the scene.dat file in Websters GFO to fix the problem. Works like a treat for me.

You just need to use the scene.dat file only from GFO. Not the entire GFO mod.
Now just to be clear. When you say trembling water, you mean that jello water effect on the surface when you move the camera around? Because recently I downloaded TMO, and that had rectified the jello water. I don't know why its not working for you. I also used the scene.dat from GFO to overwrite TMO's scene.dat and that also works fine too. The file should be compatible. (Although, I should point GFO will change the shape of the water, but think as this as trial to fix the problem, then you can work from there) Edit: Hang on, are you running any environment mods over TMO? Actually, could you provide your entire mod list? The problem could be within those mods that are overwriting your TMOs scene.dat file causing the jello water. If that's the case, those other scene.dat needs to removed (or best, copied and pasted somewhere else incase you need them back). You can find them by going into Data of your mod files.
