I got a list of mods I can recommend that will improve the look of your game.

TKSS18 German U-Boats Compilation No Eagle <----New Textures and 3D Models
German U-Boats Compilation 2 (only VIIB & VIIC models by WISE) <----New Textures and 3D Models
New U-Boat Guns Fixed Reworked (for German U-Boats Compilation) <--Fix
FixAllSubGWX <---Fix
7b-1940-Weiss <---Optional Con tower
7c-1940-similar-U-96-Weiss <----Gives VIIC Net cutters.

Both U-Boats compilation will update the textures and the 3D models of your U-boats. The other 4 underneath those two are additional mods for the compilation. First 2 are being fixes and the last 2 are optional.

M.E.P v5 <----Improves the ocean.
Sobers 3D Waves
Torpedo_HAHD_1024_GWX <-----Improves torpedo textures
Torpedo damage Final ver2.0 <----Better damage texture
Rubini´s Underwater dust&plancton v1 <-----This is definitely nice to have!
Sh3_volumetric_clouds&fog_V2.2

If you are using a 1920x1980 moniter, definitely check Ahnenerbe's WideGui 1920 x 1080 Final mod.

There several different uniform mods in the download section, but there's nothing as far as I know that will improve the 3D model or textures of your crewmembers.
