Default Captain's Report CTD?

Anyone else have or have had such a problem? I am not sure what is different? I've not added any mods yet as I wanted to try to get through the first campaign with the stock + 1.2 upgrade patch version.

Any ideas or suggestions on how I might correct this? And advice would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Gator~~

Had never seen that playing SH5. Hopefully someone will be along to
assist.

I've downloaded and opened quite a few of the mods, but I've not installed any; mostly they were the ones with readme.txt files and I was browsing through those. I shouldn't think that that should cause any problems. One of my 2 virus scanners caught a trojan and another found an embedded virus, but I suspect those were acquired from an email (the one) and one of those redirect websites which my firewall later blocked.

What Antivirus Program do you have, I have Bitdefender and it has not caused me any grief with SH, but it has with other legit programs I have ran.
To get by this I added an exclusion in the settings.

Unusual to get a ctd in stock although plenty of bugs in it.

May depend on how you were playing the game at the time.

TDW's Generic File Patcher essential for fixing problems.

Many mods available also fix stock game problems.

My tutorial post #23 may be of use to you.

Do you have sunk a friendly ship before you opened the captains log? If yes this is a known bug/reason for ctd.
