Mission progress bug?

Hey whats up!

After playing a lot of sub commander I decided I need something new and I just bough SH5 on Steam today. After installing a lot of mods and having no idea what to do in-game I removed all of them and started out with the vanilla version so I could learn the basics first.


After having the bug where you can't get back on the ship in Kiel and finding out that I can just restart the campaign to advance I'm encountering another problem. I took the mission to destroy the cargo ships off the coast of England but my mission meter doesn't fill up after destroying ships. I try to stay as close to the yellow mission icon as possible but how near do I have to be exactly? Also a google search suggested that this only happens with pirated version, but I bought the game through steam and I'm launching it through uplay. So it should be legitimate??

Besides that I'm having a lot of fun already. ^^
