Default Thread now closed > Please do not post

Hi to all you ‘Steamers.'

There are a lot of questions being asked all the time on the ‘Forum’ from ‘Steamers’ as to what mods can be used with this version of SILENT HUNTER 5H5.

I would like to try to help the newbies and you guys so that there is a central place where this information can be found.

If you guys would like to add your mods to this thread whether it is just one or two or in a mod soup then this will get the ball rolling.

Please do not let me have any mod soups where you are experiencing ctd’s.

Any additional information that you want to add will be appreciated as I do not use Steam so I am relying on you guys for your experience..

I will add a Post to my Tutorials where all the mods and relevant information can be found.

If you do not know how to copy your mods to Subsim have a look at my Tutorial Post #9.

Ok then, I will start with my Steam mods list. This is just a preliminary list and is going to change. No crashes or problems.

Generic Mod Enabler - v2.6.0.157
[C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Silent Hunter 5\MODS]

NewUIs_TDC_7_4_2_ByTheDarkWraith
OPEN HORIZONS II Light v3
BRF 1.3 lite
Critical hits 1.1 Torpedos
Damage assessment
Equipment_Upgrades_Fix_v1_4_byTheBeast

BRF will be replaced by the FX mod when I get a handle on the incompetence of my gunnery crew when using flak guns. When I switch to FX, I will also change out OH2 lite for OH2 full. I did have FX and OH2 full installed with no problems.

Hi Sunrayn

Thank you for your contribution.

Poor response to my appeal, so far..

You would think the 'Steamers' would take the opportunity to better their 'Game Play by helping each other..

You are using 2 interface mods.

You should not be using BRF with 7_4_2 and OHII

See if you can use this mod with 'Steam'?

This is useful for testing things out.

The 'Bullet Spark Test' you can practice your 'Deck Gun' on 2 merchants.

A lot of us don't use Steam but are curious anyway. Should we not look? Should we respond? I agree that one would think more Steam users would be interested. Who knows what they're thinking?

If I answered every post I read my post count would be double what it is now. If everyone who looked responded there might be 87 posts saying "Not interested" or "Don't use Steam." Then poor Berbster would be saying "If you don't use it, why did you respond?"

Some days you just can't win.

Thank you Weinstube for your response.

Basically if it ain't broken don’t mend it!

However I would put this Shadow Improvement Mod

Behind OH II and not in front of it

Open Horizons II v2.5

Can you use this with ‘Steam’?

If yes then behind main mod.

Hi Steve

I am quite amazed by the apathy to my thread.

I am not a ‘Steam’ user but I keep seeing ‘Steamers’ as I call them on the ‘Forum’, often asking the same questions and not getting the answers.

It is only recently that I that I found out that for some ‘Steam’ was not a choice but for them it was the only way that SH5 could be played.

So here I am to help, and fight the good fight, until this thread drops out of sight.

My usual jokes aside, I'm a little confused as well. I can give reasons I don't use Steam, but a lot of people do. I would think they would chime in to say something.

I think I can close this thread off now.

I have it on good authority that all mods work with the 'Steam'

The problem with 'Steam' is that 'TDW's Generic File Patcher' does not and it is the GFP that fixes all the bugs and glitches.
