Help a newcomer (me) enjoy the world of Submarine (and mainly SUBSIM)

Greetings good people of SUBSIM

The name's Viko, i'm 16 and pretty much interested in naval/submarine warfare. Started this thread here just to greet the whole resident of SUBSIM, and perhaps to knew people more here. (moderators/admins may move this thread if it's misplaced)

So let's jump in to the main thing, i've been pretty much interested into (mainly) vehicular warfare/military since i was a kid and for various reason, it's submarines and aircrafts that reigns as no.1 on my mind.
I actually learned about those things and pretty much understand about it, and being a teen boy it's usual to know these from video-game simulators. There's plenty of Flightsim out there, and my journey for learning submarines through simulator brought me here.

And that's quite the intro, here's the main thing.
As you can see, i'm looking for the best simulation/knowledge about submarines that i can get, a good friend of mine hooked me into the 5th Silent Hunter.

I'm actually aware that they said the game isn't that good, but to wander freely in the submarine is what makes this game the first choice. So, i played it, and i liked it. Installed 2 to 3 graphic mods (mostly to increase performance because inside the submarine the fps just crash-dive and is barely playable, plus slightly annoying) to enhance realism, because well the explosion looks goofy on the vanilla game.

Here's list of stuff i'm looking for, by the way:
  1. Silent Hunter games and user-picked (subsim games and) mods,
  2. Modern Submarine and Warships simulator,
  3. Midway Battlestation game,
  4. Submarine movies,
  5. Factual books about submarines

I'm planning to get the 4th one because i guess it was better, and what you, a helping member of SUBSIM, can guide me (on finding stuff like simulators that has connection on submarines) so i can, let's say further my studies... I'm also looking for Submarine movies like well, Das Boot, Hunt for Red October, etc, you name it.

So that's all for now! I'm really looking forward on what SUBSIM and the people of it can offer me, and what i can find and contribute on this wonderful website (no joke, so far this is the liveliest forums i've seen).

So, cheers!
