Hi there guys!
Not really sure if I´m in the right section here but I really do hope so! I have an upcoming project and need desperately two or three german cargo ship models, you know, the ones from the Handelsmarine! Not anything really big, just the usual merchant ship that transported goods all over. The problem is, I can´t seem to manage to extract them, tried the programs described here in this forum but everytime I try I get error messages, surely I´m doing something wrong here. Could maybe someone help me with this? Many many thanks in advance!!! :-) |

Hi itifonhom,
I don't understand, are you talking about DAT or GR2 units ships? |

Well, actually I´m looking for extracted models in 3ds or obj format.

If you are trying to extract meshes from GR2 format units (native to SH5), you should use TDW's GR2 editor/viewer/extractor/importer. This is the link to its thread:
http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...06#post1757906 Please note that the program is still in its alpha stage, and its author has removed download links from the official thread until he manages to iron out some bugs. Nonetheless, you can download a couple of earlier versions of the utility from the following thread which also contain some useful tutorials: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...47#post1942247 They got limited functionality, but should be more than enough for what you want to do ![]() |

Hey, thanks a lot for the link, downloaded already and also tried it out! Well, I can of course open and view the gr2 files with this tool, which is great but I can't seem to find a way to export them as obj or 3ds, any help here? And the tutorials just show how to modify the files not how to export them! :-(
