Default Lil help required

Ok so here is the problem

Am trying to import the SH5 Kiel port into SH3
Is in dat form and shows in game

Now the normal way of positioning ports and other objects in the Terrain/Locations folder is to add the co ordinates and heading etc on the Locations cfg

Well have done that and no matter what coordinates or heading I change the port doesnt move.

Ok so thought lets try a different way , make the port a land unit.
So placed all relevant parts in the right folders and created an entry on the LND

Same result
Whatever heading change I make the port doesnt move

So now am stumped
Any ideas anyone ??

A. That's freakin' awesome!

B. I didn't even suspect this would work!

C. Change its orientation and position with S3D?

D. That is ultra-awesome!

edit: I meant C. Change its orientation and position inside the .dat file using S3D....

Did you attach StaticObject controller to the main node in the dat file?

@ postalbyke
yeah could change position in dat using S3D though would prefer to do it the correct way esp as need the TGA for HB_Kiel to show correct ingame also. Plus dont think would get the final position as needed just by using the dat positional changes.

Wasnt sure it would work either but if you dont try you never know

@DarkWraith
No - the dat I used for import was already an ingame dat and just replaced like for like nodes etc
Not noticed that controller on any of the dats I checked with S3D
Will look into that tho

Thanx for the suggestions

May be it will sound silly... but you didn't forget to insert a marker (empty) chunk: Type 5, subType 0, dataSize 0..?

Doesnt sound silly at all Anvart
All help appreciated
S3D doesnt give the option to add a type 5 chunk - goes from Nodes = 4 to Properties = 6
No 5

If you did your *.dat file (Kiel port) from scratch, you have to add Type 5 marker...
Use S3D, you just export this chunk as *.rawchunk file from stock dat-file and then import into the beginning of new file (after Start chunk).

Maybe this will help you..?

P.S.
Even easier it can be done with HexEditor...
