Default Upcoming subsims?

Anything out in the way of modern submarine simulations.

Been thinking it would be cool to have something like Jane's 688i but with great graphics, in depth game play and perhaps some sort of up to date combat scenarios... war on terror, espionage, cruise missile strikes etc etc

anyone know of anything in the works?

ive put SH3 in the hands of the next generation of subsimmer... and SH4 is getting a little stale for me.

Sh5

fuggitabout it

I seriously doubt we will see anything as good as Dangerous Waters or Sub Command again in a long time.

Yeah, those people are part of the problem. Don't know what you've got, till it's gone.

I knew.

Well duh! Can you command a carrier in them? Can you launch nukes? Can you fly a Spitfire? Can you play as a homing kamikaze whale? Can you see every past, present and future unit ever made anywhere in them? Can you say they have better graphics than SH5? Can you say they have better campaign than Falcon 4? Can you say they model the target acquiring system of Abrams tank better than Steel Beasts pro? Huh? Can you? Can you?!

Yeah, compared to Red Storm Rising, Sub Command was huge step back.

(Your turn)

Sonalists gave me ten years of fun, tension and friendships with people all over the world.

have you tried out Dangerous Waters, yet? Except of the outdated graphics, you can basically have what you strive for - if you use the latest mods and get your teeth into mission building and (platform) doctrine scripts and do compromises. It is very time consuming, sometimes frustrating until you find a workaround to create very complex missions - but finally at the end very rewarding. In short, it is a naval sandbox with focus on ASW/small engagements.

I also think there will be no new (modern) naval sim with that big scope like DW for the foreseeable future. Perhaps if Sonalysts needs to build a new sim from scratch for their non-commercial customers...

I really do not understand why not more folks try out DW now...you get it for a few bucks and you have unlimited fun with it if you have the will to invest your time&energy on it.

Nevermind the subsims, give me some money, so I can do my PT-boat game. I have the idea, just need the money to hire people.
