Default Can't install mods

I downloaded JSGME, and I went to import some of the mods I downloaded, mighty fine crew, IRAI etc. into it, and it didnt show up. I put it in a folder in the downloads section of my computer titled mods, and clicked on the folder, it wouldn't show up as being able to be imported.

So basically I got jsgme, but It doesn't recognize mods, and I therefore have no way of importing them.

Is there some way, like maybe I can make a MODS folder in silenthunter5 and directly import the files using my mouse?

Also do I import them to programs or programs (x86)?

  1. The way I use JSGME is to install it to the base folder of the game (in my case, c:\games\silent hunter 5\
  2. Run it the first time and it will create a MODS folder within the main game folder.
  3. Go find your mods, prolly in your downloads folder, they will be compressed (RAR,ZIP, 7Z), so unzip them before putting them in the MODS folder. Take care to read inside the folder, so require you to do seperate stuff. mods should be contained in a named folder with two sub-folders (data and documetation). And some mods are a package of mods (like TDWs NewUI), which you have to extract just the stuff you want.
  4. Run JSGME again and the mods you put in the MODS folder will be there
  5. select the mods you want to install from the left hand box and install to the right hand box using the buttons in the middle
  6. read http://www.users.on.net/~jscones/sof...on/JSGMEUG.pdf
if you are not too sure
  7. Read http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=190656
    because you should!

Ill go over your links because I should, but do you know if I install them in programs folder or programs (x86) because they both show up at the games main file, but Im pretty sure the mods will only work for one of them.

You are best off NOT installing the whole game in the default programs folder (or the x86 folder either). This is because Windows User Access Control gets all arsey about deleteing and amending stuff in those folders and will cause you and the game grief.

You are best off reinstalling the game to a different folder on your hard disk (say, C:\Games\SH5) then installing JSGME into the same folder.

Merry Xmas BTW
