Default What happened guys

So I haven't been around since the Dynamic Campaign video was released and I read that interview with Neal as well and what do I see, 250+ users viewing and you guys are all pissed as hell it seems.

Online DRM does suck but I have accrued many games over the years through Steam and I like the automatic updates and constant news bits. At first Steam was received TERRIBLY and they did a bad job of managing it but over time Steam has become the PC gaming platform of today.

Quite frankly I think the problem with the mood here is the publisher's fault, where is the Community Manager?! SubSim is the Silent Hunter community, everyone who has played one of these games has at least drifted through here once and we have been left in the dark. I am sure most of what we are displeased about is from assertions and conjecture about what we think the game will arrive as. The so called 'unknown' has driven our imaginations wild.

Company of Heroes' community which basically resides at Gamereplays.org has a full time community manager from Relic answer questions and update us on upcoming patches and so forth. Is that Neal's unofficial title or what? I am confused.

tl:dr Who is Ubi's community manager for this product. Srsly.

Hi, Tonnage!
Good to see you.
The issue is of principle, having to log in and stay online for something we have already paid.

One is being told what to do at one's home. Do you want to aske permission from Ubi, everythime you want toplay?

That is true and in a perfect world that wouldn't be the case but I think Ubi has to make some effort to curb piracy without including Starforce which I think you remember was a big deal way back with SH3.

Dawn of War II required you to be logged into Windows Live to play the single player campaign and many games are moving toward this practice of being connected to some service.

I would have NO GRIPE about this OSP nonsense so long as they would provide a one time validation, the rest is playable offline.

piece of cake.

Maybe if they released the game for consoles as well they wouldn't have to depend on PC sales. As long as it doesn't dumb down the PC version.

We do not want a console-isation of our subsims, because they will get dumbed down.
