Default Silent Hunter 6: Wolves of the Pacific

Then, MIGHT we expect an updated version of Wolves of the Pacific in the near future?

Probably not the near future. First they have to sell this one, then add on extra boats, probably one at a time given the nature of the new beast, and finish the campaign.

If it works as advertised, and if it sells well, then once all those things are done then they might be influenced to do it for other navies as well - one boat at a time.

Judging by the responses for SH5 perhaps not!

Are you that eager to go through all of this "New SH5 game coming out" hand wringing and back biting again?

Nah, we'll already know what to expect. They'll take SH5, convert it to Gato boats, break half the functionality, and sell it as SH6. Then we just get to wonder what won't work right.

And download the first patch before we even get the game delivered.

Responses to what though? no ones actually played it yet
It must have been pretty obvious to the devs that the 1943 & VII only thing was gonna incite a riot here anyway.

Especially when we haven't yet lived through the "SH5 released bitching" and "SH5 mod wars bitching" phases. Let's enjoy those first before we start the "SH6 development bitching" phase.

I don´t think that it would be possible now

but could be a porpoise class submarine simulator with a campaign starting in 1943 to 1945 or a 1941 to 1943

i´m not very optimist now

The last PTO game made, was 14 years ago with SH1. Going by the existing pattern of release (1996 and 2007), we'll have to wait at least another 11 years before we see another PTO game.

Sure glad I saved my SHIII map just in case a map does not come with the regular game. A printed out map will not be as big and the 20# paper stock on the printed version is nowhere as good as the BIG glossy SHIII boxed map.

If they ever do make another US Pacific subsim, I hope to god they don't stick the cringe-worthy name of Wolves of the Pacfic on it. That was just too much, imo.
