Default U-46 Patrol Log

Well, I thought its been a while since I posted a patrol report, and as im on a long patrol to Halifax. So here goes with my new alter ego - Herr Karl Hussmann.

U-46
Date; 01/03/41
Position; Grid BE 86

To: Bdu
From: Oberlutenant Karl Haussmann

No enemy contacts sighted or picked up on hydrophones. Weather has been good for the first few days, but is now turning poor. Crew are in good spirits, and are looking forward to sinking some enemy Merchants.
Will send next report once the weather has improved/sunk a merchant/intercepted convoy.

Karl Haussmann.

(I will try and update this as soon as I can/when I get back on SH3)

U-46

Date; 12/03/41
Position; Grid BD74
To: BDu
From: Oberlutenant Karl Haussmann

Weather increasingly getting worse, affecting abillity to track targets on surface/submerged. Having to now submerge during the night, to reduce chances of collision with vessels due to the poor visibility.
Will send next report when possible.

From BDU
Sounds like you are having a holiday. Be more agressive.

I know, ive had great hunting there in the past. Now just for this bad weather to clear and i'll be fine.

(P.S. should be a new patrol log out soon this week, if I remember to post it!)

U-46

Date;27/03/41
Position; Grid

To: BDu
From: Oberlutenant Karl Haussmann

Weather finally cleared on the 21st march at 10:33am. Crew are in good spirits, and are awaiting for the opportunity to sink enemy vessels.
Encountered 2 enemy catalina patrol aircraft on 25th and 26th march, both times having to take evasive action, but was unfortunatley spotted second time around. Cannot say wether my position was not reported, and will now be wary of further threats by naval vessels.
Reached partol grid today (27th), and will patrol for 48 hrs.

Karl Haussmann.

We regret to inform that U-46 is missing, presumed lost. Her last report said that she was attaking a convoy around BB46, and was been harrased by several destroyer escorts.

Don't give up all hope, she could be suffering from a radio transmitter fault
