Default Deck Gun Question

I'm currently using TMO with RSRD and after a couple of patrols I was offered the option to move the deckgun from aft to forward, (in a Gato) and I did just that. Into my next patrol, I noticed there was no slot for the crew to man the gun. It could be manned manually, but no crew. I remember reading something on this long ago and thought this was now fixed with the new patch. Apparently not. Do I need to wait until a certain date in the campaign before this works correctly? Thanks in advance for any info.

Actually, its a manual fix. Unless you're ready to make the necessary file tweaks I suggest moving the gun back to its original position. That way the gun will be manned once again and you'll be spared a headache....

I've run into this problem before and circumvented it by moving the crew out of the gunners slots before you move the gun. I don't remember which version I did that in, but I believe it was 1.4.

If you still have a saved game before you made the change (i.e autosave entering port) you can load it, move the gunners out of their slots, move the gun and you should have the slots available to put the gunners back into. If it doesn't work, you haven't lost anything.

I did that accidentally (had put my gun crews into Damage Control and forgotten tomove them back) but still lost the deck gun crew slots.
