Default Stopwatch Volume

I've searched the forums and can't find anything about the stopwatch volume. Is it just me or is it annoyingly loud? It just tends to grate on my nerves after awile. So...My question is....Is there a simple (or even hard) way to turn down the volume? Please, don't tell me to just turn down the master volume!

Assuming that it has it's own sound file, the volume could be modified with the right sound software. It may have to be converted to a wave, modified, and then converted back into the proper game format.

If you have S3D, use it to open the BlahBlahBlah\Data\Sound\Sh.sdl file up and scroll down until you see Interior.clock in the list of sound effects. Click on it and adjust the volume with the volume slider.

If you don't have S3D, the sound file for that effect is BlahBlahBlah\Data\Sound\Clock.wav . You can use a sound editor to adjust the volume of the file.

If you don't have S3D yet, I'd recommend getting it if you want to adjust the volumes of individual sounds. Just make sure and keep a back up of the original file (better yet, copy the Sh.sdl file into a JSGME compatible folder structure and modify it and then activate the mod).

BTW...The chrono sound I was looking to turn down is actually using the periscope_torp file. Kinda strange. Must be the Trigger Maru Sound Mod that changed the file being used.

That could be, I suppose.:hmm:

Have fun with S3D It's the "bees knees" for modifying game files (and it ain't even finished yet:rotfl: Just be careful to keep backups or create your own mini mods and copy the files you want to work on into them.
