Default Bored with life or How powerfull is the 10.5 on the IX?

as I was bored a little I decided to try something.

As the amount of shells for the 10.5 on the IX boat is limited it is not a weapon to kill a lot of ships with but I stumbled across this Black swan as I was reloading after attacking a convoy and had shot all other escorting ships and they called for help ...

Used the 10.5 at around 4000m and fired at least 5 rounds with 2 direct hits (one was the bridge - the other knocked on main gun out) before the Black Swan even started firing back:

the opponent took several hits without hitting me as I was zig zagging:

Then it really got rough... I took two hits and decided to make an escape under water:

To my surprise and pleasure the Black Swan had taken so much damage itself tried to escape:

I let it be cause I was about to get the convoy again and do another attack run. As I was turning away I heard the anouncment of a destroyed unit and the cheers of my crewman.

I was sure the BlackSwan would kick my ass... but wouldn't I have gotten too near I wouldn't have got hit even once.

Of course my luck was the first direct hit on the bridge. But in the end it was fun and the Black Swan was done

Kaluen Grayson,

1st Welcome aboard!!

If its early enough in the war the DDs are like dopey...easy to hide from easier to kill.

Sometimes on surface night fights the enemy will lose sight of you after your muzzle flash disapates. So you could slug it out on the surface if the conditions are right.

Also The Blakc Swan is not the hardiest of DDs either as you will soon find out.

Anyways enjoy the easy pickins for it will shortly.

PS Dont mind STEED, he stands on the deck of his boat and hurls his eels by hand! :rotfl:

Good work, Grayson

The only time Steed is not grumpy is when he's torpedoing someone.

I was able to evade a black swan in the surface at night with my Ix-boat at 19-20 knts in calm waters some patrols ago. :hmm:

the poor bastard was unable to find me after some minutes of speed and a sharp turn. it started a underwater search while i was several meters away.
