Hi.
Anybody know how long take a real partol? Not in the game, in reality. For example I was read in the book, there was two type of food rations: 1 - normal for 6 weeks 2 - increased for 8 weeks

if you look on U-boat.net you will notice the patrol lengths are listed... I have seen early war type VII patrols last as little as 3 weeks, and later type IXC patrols last hundreds of days.
It just depends on the mission, the war years etc. If you are using a type VII out of any of the french bases i would think that 4-6 weeks would be about tops.

In reality VII boats used to patrol for 3-6 weeks due to confined space, lack of torpedoes and proximity to England that made refuelling difficult. Type IX boats were patroling for anything between 2 and 6 months as it was easier to refuel in the vast oceans away from allied bases and task forces.

Here is the longest patrol ever. Not a very successful one, either:

![]() On the other hand, real kaleuns were expected to stay in their patrol grids until further orders, even if they never saw any ships there.
