I guess they should have made SH4 an open boat where we run around inside and shoot each other a 1000 times. They seem to handle those games with numerous patches. --Longam UBI SHIV Forums

A sad day has dawned...

It's been my hunch that those messages are coded somewhere to occur at a specific depth. Same depth as Sh3. Since subs in SH4 don't dive that deep - we never hear them.

So then... max out the crash depth on your sub for 265 meters or so?

I think the reason we don't have voices is because of the phrases .dat files. I'm fairly sure that is where the problem lies. I made an intersesting discovery in those files.

Fixes like this and the 'destroyer in attack run' will add a lot to the game. Really hope you manage to crack these little gems nvdrifter!

Interior damage sounds also -I can't believe this was (again!) neglected in the latest patch. Seems that Ubi must have the devs on a very tight leash.

Why your leash statement is most likely true (all programmers are on a tight leash with their parent company (or should be)) perhaps the devs just knew that nvdrifter's genius would blaze through like the heat of a million suns !

Surely the diving too deep message could be linked to say 10-25 feet above whatever your current crush depth might be (if damaged) to allow you time to level off before instant death? I don't know much about modding, just my idea.

or 177 meters. When did the gauge in SH3 go from yellow to red? around 200 meters or there abouts? Trutfully, i dont remember WHEN the CE would say "were diving too deep sir" but i vaugely remember it being around 200 meters, which was annoying because most of the time in that game, we'd be down to anywhere between 240 and 270 meters.

Yes, you are right. So the magic number we should all be looking for is probably 177.
